Our Mission & Approach

Our mission is to empower and equip mission-driven individuals and organizations with tools, mindsets and approaches that disrupt inequity and lead to lasting social change.

  • We are committed to people – we help people extract meaning from their experiences, ideals, and norms through critical self-examination and group learning. We support leaders in developing diverse, equitable and inclusive teams that elevate historically marginalized voices and perspectives.
  • We are committed to combating racism – we help individuals develop a critical and intersectional analysis of systemic racism and other forms of oppression in order to be able to challenge patterns of power in the pursuit of equity.
  • We are committed to pursuing equity – we help organizations develop strategies and accountability systems for centering equity in their practices, policies and priorities. We work to ensure that decision-making tables accurately reflect the communities they serve.

We accomplish this through the adoption, application and prioritization of a racial equity lens.

Racial equity means eliminating the predictability of outcomes across systems and institutions on the basis on the race. We achieve racial equity when everyone has what they need to thrive in our society, and when institutional policies and practices don’t impact individuals disparately depending on their racial identity.

Without a nuanced and continuously developing commitment and investment in racial equity, nonprofits and social change organizations run the risk of perpetuating the very injustices that they seek to solve.

We are committed to helping organizations and individuals infuse equity into their daily practices, priorities, and perspectives. We work to ensure that diversity work isn’t considered an add-on strategy, but is instead the foundation and crux of the work our clients do.
